SUMMARY:IPBC2020 [POSTPONED]
DESCRIPTION:Download flyer here: IPBC2020 1st Announcement \n\n\n\nFor registration: http://submit.confbay.com/conf/ipbc2020 \nTHE 5TH INTERNATIONAL PLANT BREEDING CONFERENCE (IPBC2020) \n\n\n\n\nEmerging Trends in Plant Breeding Towards Sustainable Bio-Economy \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlant breeding is an important field of research for improvement of yield and quality of plant production. The achievements of plant breeding have had tremendous on economic and national development. Advanced techniques and tools would be able to assist plant breeders in their practice of selection and strategies for plant improvement. This Conference will be its fifth debut of Plant Breeding Conference Series organised by the Genetics Society of Malaysia\, which begun in 2012. Due to the overwhelming success of the first\, second\, third and fourth conferences\, we are pushing this fifth conferences into a bigger role in accelerating synergies in plant breeding and genetics. This 2-day conference will address the latest advances in various plant breeding activities and its achievements. More than 20 keynote and invited speakers will be presenting their views and findings in this conference. The conference will provide opportunities and gather as many plant breeders\, agricultural scientists\, geneticist\, researchers\, academicians\, biotechnologies and student to share their latest knowledge\, experience and achievements in plant improvement programmes. \n\nCONFERENCE TRACK \n\nCONVENTIONAL PLANT BREEDING\n\n\n\n\n\nConventional plant breeding is the science of manipulating the genome of a plant species using classical breeding methods or techniques such as selection\, backcrossing\, single seed descent and pedigree in order to develop improved plant varieties. \n\n\nIR4.0 IN PLANT BREEDING\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA number of global trends are influencing food security\, poverty alleviation strategies\, and the overall sustainability of food and agricultural systems. IR4.0 represents a great opportunity to consider the variability and uncertainties that involve the agri-food production chain. New advancement in technologies such as molecular marker technology\, gene editing\, genome selection\, targeted mutagenesis and precision agriculture offer a good opportunity to accelerate productivity\, efficiency and support the shift towards an innovation- and knowledge-based economy. \n\nCONSERVATION AND UTILISATION OF BIODIVERSITY\n\nBiodiversity is essential for ecosystem health\, sustainable food production and resilient livelihoods. There is a growing recognition in safeguarding biodiversity and managing natural resources sustainably in the effort to deliver nutritious food for present and future generations. The maintenance of wild relatives of domesticated species\, are essential to plant breeding and sustainable agriculture. The use and conservation of diversity therefore determines our food security\, health and economic well-being. The positive and crucial role of plant breeding in both preserving and fostering biodiversity and in promoting sustainable use of genetic resources should be mainstreamed in the Agriculture System. \n\nBIO-ECONOMY\n\nPlant breeding is a prime driver for bioeconomy with the development of high yielding crops and plants with new or improved traits. With the increase in world population and challenges faced by climate change\, plant breeding contributed significantly to bioeconomy by assuring sustainable biomass feedstock for food\, feed\, health\, energy as well as industrial applications. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \nCALL FOR PAPER \nThe Conference cordially invites academics\, practitioners\, scholars\, researchers\, policy makers of any government agencies to present their oral or poster papers in IPBC2020. Please submit your abstract to secretariat.ipbc2020@gmail.com. All submitted papers will be blind reviewed by our scientific reviewers. Authors of accepted abstracts are required to submit a full paper consisting of a paper title\, author(s) list\, address and e-mail\, abstract\, introduction\, methodology\, results and discussion\, conclusion\, acknowledgement and references. The manuscript should be prepared using Times New Roman with font size 12. The manuscript should be written in not more than 15 pages\, single-spaced (maybe word count is better) including tables and figures. To expose our young minds to scientific cultures\, we encourage the participation from postgraduate students all over the world to present their research projects in this Conference with their registration fee discounted. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION FEE \n\nPGM Member = RM 800.00\nGovernment = RM 1000.00\nPrivate/Non-Government = RM 1\,200.00\nStudent (Local) = RM500.00\nStudent (International) = USD200.00\nInternational = USD500.00\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCORRESPONDENCE \nAll correspondence and further enquiries should be addressed to: \nConference Secretariat \nE-mail: secretariat.ipbc2020@gmail.com \nTel: +603 8928 0577 \nMobile: +6017 – 732 1669 (Mr. Zesdyzar)\, +6019 – 377 4891 (Ms. Izza)
